Lincoln Elementary building turns 100Lincoln Elementary School is celebrating a 100-year milestone.

The school building, located at 213 21st Avenue S.E., was built in 1923 with the Mission style characteristic of prominent Olympia architect Joseph Wohleb — Olympia School District’s official architect at the time.

According to historical records, the current building replaced the original “Lincoln School,” which was located a few blocks to the north of the current site.

In recent weeks, Lincoln students, staff and families have been printing T-shirts to wear at a 100-year birthday celebration that will take place during a schoolwide assembly on Friday, June 16, 2023.

Former staff, students and the community are invited to attend the celebration, which will be held from 8:50-9:20 a.m. in the school gym.
