Flags lowered to half-staff today, July 23

Gov. Jay Inslee directs that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities, including schools and support buildings, be lowered to half-staff today, Tuesday, July 23, in memory of Retired Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, John Paul Stevens.

Retired Associate Justice Stevens passed away on July 16 from complications of a stroke at the age of 99. A private funeral service and interment is scheduled today at Arlington National Cemetery.

Flags will remain at half-staff until close of business today.
