Supplemental Learning Resources
Student learning in the OSD

For now, to support families during this challenging time amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, we have compiled a menu of resources for students and families to access at home during the time schools are closed in Olympia. We have intentionally provided a variety of options, many of which do not require screen time once accessed. This list will expand in the coming weeks.

These supplemental learning resources are provided to help keep students’ minds engaged, provide options for inquiry and discovery topics, and allow students to practice skills. These are not intended to be a substitute for our normal instructional services. The activities that accompany these resources are not required and will not be graded.

We are working toward expanding these resources for all students. At the same time, we have to ensure that federal and state laws around educational equal access are met for all students.

We will be taking steps over the next several days to ensure that all students K-12 who need a device or Wi-Fi hotspot will have one. So again, while this is our first and current offering of supplemental learning resources, as our efforts to ensure technology accessibility for students are successful, we will seek out ways to expand and enrich our options for students. so stay tuned.

Note: If you do not have access to a computer or Wi-Fi to access these resources on the Internet, please fill out the Technology Request Form. The Olympia School District will be reviewing requests and fulfilling them to the best of our ability as quickly as possible.

As a reminder, all Olympia School District schools are closed through the remainder of the 2019-20 school year; however, distance learning will continue.
