Summer Lunch Program
The Olympia School District Summer Lunch Program begins on Monday, June 25 and ends on August 17. Lunch is served free every weekday an noon at Garfield Elementary. Please call 753-8380 for more information.

Summer School Program
Summer school is right around the corner! Classes begin July 9th and run through August 9th. School will be in session Monday through Thursday mornings and are for Middle School and High School students only. The summer school program will be taking place at Olympia High School. New Middle School Varsity Robotics Team
The new Jefferson/Marshall Varsity Robotics Teams are now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 season. Just like varsity sports, these after-school teams are an opportunity for experienced students to take their Robotics, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math skills to the next level through FIRST LEGO League (FLL) competitions. Community Meeting Notice - Garfield Elementary School
You’re invited to a public meeting on Wednesday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Garfield Elementary Gym. The meeting will focus on the upcoming remodel and modernization of Garfield Elementary.
With construction set to begin in the summer of 2013, the Olympia School District would like input from the community on the design of the new school. We would like to hear what you would like to see in this new facility and we look forward to having you join us at this event.

Bill Lahmann’s Retirement Celebration
The community is invited to attend a special retirement celebration for Bill Lahmann on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the new Hands on Children’s Museum located at 414 Jefferson Street NE, Olympia. A recognition program will be held at 6 p.m. and cake and refreshments will be served. This is an open house event, so no RSVP is required. 2012-13 Budget Information
The Olympia School District has begun the process of creating the 2012-13 operating budget and has put together the following information and meeting schedule. The public is invited to attend and take part in and provide input to the budget process.

Volunteers Needed for Avanti Robotics Event
The third annual Avanti STEM Robotics Invitational on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 and community volunteers are needed. The event is a regional robotics competition between ten schools from around the region. For more information, please contact Randy Steele at rsteele@osd.wednet.edu.

District Now Accepting Online Payments
This spring a few schools and programs will be piloting online credit card payments through RevTrak, the same company providing the OSD community with credit card payments for school lunches since 2009. Because this is a pilot, schools and items will be added throughout the spring and summer to include a wide array of purchase options by fall. For questions regarding online payments, please contact the district’s business office at 596-6120.

Kindergarten Registration Information
Registration for Kindergarten will begin on Monday, March 26, 2012 and parents can begin picking up registration packets from their neighborhood school the week of March 19th. Olympia School District is pleased to offer a number of Kindergarten programs and services to meet the needs of students and families. Read more
