NOTICE OF EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR COMMENT AND APPEAL

Related to the October 22, 2018 Determination of Nonsignificance for

the Olympia High School Classroom Addition, Modernization, and Illuminated Playfield Project

 

Background:

The Olympia School District No. 111, acting as lead agency pursuant to WAC 197-11-926, issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) on October 22, 2018, for the “Olympia High School Classroom Addition, Modernization, and Illuminated Playfield Project.” A copy of the DNS and environmental checklist, as well as other information regarding the project, is on file with the lead agency and available to the public upon request by contacting: Tricia Nicholas, Olympia School District No. 111, 1914 Wilson St. SE, Olympia, WA 98501 (phone: 360.596.8563).

 

Extension of Comment and Appeal Periods for the DNS:

The October 22, 2018, DNS identifies that comments and appeals must be submitted in writing to the lead agency before 4:00 p.m. on November 6, 2018. The lead agency for this proposal is hereby voluntarily extending the deadline for comments and appeals as follows:

 

Deadline for comments: Comments must be submitted in writing before 4:00 p.m., November 13, 2018. Comments may be submitted to Ms. Jennifer Priddy, Assistant Superintendent, Olympia School District No. 111, 1113 Legion Way S.E., Olympia, WA, 98501. The responsible official will reconsider the DNS based on timely comments and may retain, modify, or, if significant adverse impacts are likely, withdraw the DNS. If the DNS is retained, it will be final after the expiration of the comment deadline.

 

Deadline for appeals: Appeals of the DNS must be delivered in writing no later than 4:00 p.m., November 20, 2018, Ms. Jennifer Priddy, Assistant Superintendent, Olympia School District No. 111, 1113 Legion Way S.E., Olympia, WA, 98501. Written appeals must comply with District Procedure 6890(P) and must specify: (a) the determination being appealed, (b) the errors complained of, (c) the corrective action being sought, (d) the reasons why the determination should be changed, and (e) whether further oral or written comment or a hearing is requested.

 

Any comments and/or appeals received by the original November 6, 2018, deadline will be held by the lead agency and considered following the extended comment/appeal periods. Any individual submitting comments and/or appeals in advance of the November 6, 2018, deadline may, but are not required to, supplement or resubmit their previously filed documents using the extended deadlines contained herein.
