Since 1996, the mission of the Student Assistance and Treatment Program has been to ensure the safety, health and well-being of all students through programs that emphasize alcohol, tobacco, other drug and co-occuring conditions intervention and support programs in the Olympia School District. Beginning in January 2011, the Olympia School District received certification from Department of Social and Health Services and Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery to provide Chemical Dependency Out-Patient Treatment Services.

Our comprehensive approach provides prevention education, intervention and out-patient treatment targeting the reduction of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use while addressing co-ocurring conditions among our youth. Our counselors provide services to students and families directly related to substance abuse and other risk-taking behaviors effecting success in school and beyond. Identified students receive formalized screenings, complete Bio-Psyco-Social Chemical Dependency Assessments, individual and/or small group education, treatment services, on-going counseling, recovery support services, and urinalysis testing. All services are provided in-district by Olympia School District Licensed Chemical Dependency Counseling Professionals and Nationally Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist.
