Olympia School District: COVID-19 Data Dashboard
Data for the 2022-23 school year will be posted weekly
Providing a safe learning environment is our number one priority. When the Olympia School District is notified of a positive COVID-19 case our nursing staff works closely with Thurston County Public Health and Social Services (PHSS) to conduct a thorough investigation of each case reported by staff or parents. Our nursing staff works in partnership with families and the PHSS Schools Case Investigation and Contact Tracing Team to identify close contacts and ensure those who are positive cases and/or close contacts quarantine/isolate for the recommended time. Based on the outcome of a case investigation done by PHSS, we are able to identify if a case originates outside or inside the school setting.
Typically cases that are identified as originating inside the school setting are 2 or more cases that can be linked by location and exposure to a positive case. Our nursing staff is responsible for tracking positive cases, quarantine & isolation times and student absences. Our nurses do this in order to ensure a safe learning and working environment for students and staff.
