Current Headlines
2013-14 School Year Budget Proposals
The Olympia School District is in the process of developing its 2013-14 school year budget. This week Superintendent Cvitanich presented his proposed budget to the school board. The draft budget was built in part on the 1,300+ responses to our online community budget survey (thanks to everyone who participated!). The budget includes proposed enhancements in several areas, including additional supports and interventions for students, supports for teachers and other staff, and critical administrative needs. You will find more details about the budget survey results and the Superintendent’s proposed budget on the OSD budget webpage.
Next week we are holding two community budget forums to gather your feedback on the Superintendent’s proposed budget and hear how you think the district should prioritize its spending for the 2013-14 school year. We hope you will mark your calendars for one of these meetings:
- Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. – Reeves Middle School, 2200 Quince St. NE
- Thursday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m. – Jefferson Middle School, 2200 Conger Ave. NW

2013 Summer School Program
It's hard to believe but summer school is right around the corner! Classes will begin July 8th and run through August 8th. School will be in session Monday through Thursday mornings and are for Middle School and High School students only. The summer school program will be taking place at Olympia High School. Ways of keeping up with us
In January of 2012 the OSD joined the Facebook community. Since that time we have made it a priority to update our Facebook page on a daily basis with news and events taking place in our District. Whether it's information on upcoming theatrical performances taking place in our District, to links to local news articles featuring schools or students in our District, we make it a point to post it all on our page. Similar to our Facebook page, our Twitter account is available with daily District updates. Our Twitter account is tied to our Facebook account so that any postings we make on Facebook are automatically posted on Twitter so you won't miss a thing!
