OSD Special Education Parent Teacher Organization
The Special Education PTO works to improve each child's school experience by connecting parents and educators with information and with one another. The PTO works in partnership with the District, making recommendations for the annual budget, educational programs, and any other topics concerning our students.
The PTO meets monthly during the school year and provides informative programs on a wide variety of topics including community resources, District programs, managing the IEP process, and much more. Meetings are open to everyone—parents, guardians, Special Education and general education teachers, family members, administrators, paraeducators and therapists. You may attend any or all meetings.

Transition Committee
Identifies needs and develops programs to help students transition smoothly through key steps in the education process such as changing schools, entering a new grade or preparing for life after graduating high school. Contact Donna Burkhart.
School Representative Committee
Ensures that educators and parents at each school have ready access to Sp Ed PTO resources and information. Contact Juli Skeen.
Events Committee
Proposes and schedules speakers, presentations and events. Gathers information from the special needs community about relevant programs and topics. Contact Devika Saletore.
Communication Committee
Connects families and educators, increases disability awareness and acceptance and promotes involvement in programs and events. Contact Kirstin Etherage.
